摘要
Locomotion in virtual environments (VE) remains one of the major problems in virtual reality (VR) research. The most intuitive way to move about the real world is to travel on foot. People often feel a better sense of distance or direction while walking than while riding in a vehicle. A new locomotion interface using 12 treadmills is developed which lets users walk about in virtual space in any direction while their actual position remains localized.
