Parity non-conservation in atomic Yb arising from the nuclear anapole moment

摘要
The recent experimental observation of the nuclear anapole moment in atomic caesium has confirmed the existence of the nuclear spin-dependent parity non-conserving nucleus-electron interaction; Atomic ytterbium (Yb) is presently being explored as a possible candidate for detecting the nuclear anapole moment. The result of our relativistic many-body calculations suggest that Yb may indeed be very suitable for this purpose.
