Traffic pollution monitoring using mosses as big-accumulators of metals and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons

摘要
This paper presents the results of an investigation aimed at determining the level of pollution caused by vehicular traffic in some urban and rural areas of Rieti city. PAHs and Pb, Mn, Cr, Cd, Al, Co, Fe, As, Ni and Zn presence was assessed and measured by analysing moss specimens coming from the above mentioned areas. Statistical analysis of such data showed a good correlation between some of the named pollutants.
