Stokes flow through a channel obstructed by horizontal cylinders

摘要
The slow viscous now through a channel obstructed by internal circular tubes is solved by domain decomposition, eigenfunction expansions and matching. The resistance caused by a periodic sequence of cylinders is determined. The interaction between the cylinders is negligible if the period is more than four times the channel width. An asymptotic formula for the very small cylinder shows an inverse logarithmic singularity.
