Czochralski growth and optical properties of SrB2O4:Eu2+ single crystals

摘要
The SrB2O4 single crystal doped with 0.5 at% of europium has been grown by the Czochralski method. The Eu2+ broad emission in bulk crystal has been observed, upon excitation by a femtosecond laser. However, the efficiency of this emission does not exceed a value of 23% at 5 K, assessed in the frame of the Inokuti-Hirayama model. The critical distance R-0 was calculated to be 20.6 angstrom, C-da 5.40 x 10(-45) m(6)/s for S=6. The calculated radiative lifetime based on the Inokuti-Hirayama equation is 14.28 ns.
