Observation of resonances in the reaction (p)over-barp → ηηπ0 at 5.2 GeV/c

Data from the Fermilab E835 experiment have been used to study the reaction $(p) over bar $p --> etaetapi(0) at 5.2 GeV/c. A sample of 22 million six photons events has been analyzed to construct the Dalitz plot containing similar to 80k etaetapi(0) events. A partial wave analysis of the data has been done. At least five f(J)-states decaying into etaeta between similar to 1.4 and 2.3 GeV are observed. Two f(0) states are identified with the popular candidates for the lightest scalar glueball, f(0)(1500) and f(0)(1710). In addition, at least five a(J)-states decaying into etapi(0) up to 2.4 GeV are also observed. Masses, widths and spins of these resonances are determined by maximum likelihood analysis of the data and compared with the results in the literature.
