Novel downhole capillary injection system solves difficult chemical treatment problems

摘要
Batch inhibition treatment to remediate corrosion or scale problems can be very inconvenient for operators of oil and gas wells, If the treatment is nor performed properly, chemicals can damage or impair the formation. The effective life of the treatments is often shorter than desired and is difficult to monitor. Equipment has been developed to run concentric-capillary tubing to depths of approximate to 18,000 ft without interrupting production. A method has also been developed to effectively treat wells with electric submersible pumps well before the primp intake to ensure mixing of chemicals with the production fluids prior to pomp entry. Modification of producing wells with this experiment allows precise continuous chemical treatment (as much as 75 bbl/day to as little as 1 pint/day) bt the required depth. Treatment of wells below the packer ensures that the entire tubing string receives inhibition.
