METHOD FOR DETERMINING ERYTHROCYTE SURFACE AREA BY POLARIZATION AND NEPHELOMETRIC MEASUREMENTS

摘要
We propose a fast method for determining the surface area and volume of erythrocytes in the biconcave-discoid shape, based on establishing regression relations between the parameters to be determined and the angular polarization coefficients P(I similar to) and scattering indicatrix sigma(I similar to). We have shown that using sigma(I similar to) for angles 6A degrees and 17A degrees, P(I similar to) for angles 81A degrees and 119A degrees lets us determine the surface area of the erythrocytes within a parts per thousand 1% and the volume of the erythrocytes within a parts per thousand 2%.
