Numerical study of the nitrogen oxide formation in non-circular profile furnaces of gas-tube boilers

Modern gas-tube boilers must meet environmental standards. To concentrations of toxic emissions requirements are regulated by environmental regulations. One way of reducing emissions of nitrogen oxide concentrations, is an intensification of processes of heat exchange due to changes in the profile of the furnace. The paper discusses the results of a numerical calculation of heat and mass transfer processes in the flow of reacting gases in the furnace of a non-circular profile gas-tube boilers. Calculations carried out using ANSYS CFX. The research results obtained in this study are presented graphically using variables characterizing the environmental characteristics and operation of the furnace of the boiler as a whole suggest that the reduction of the mass fraction of NO within 23%. Since the temperature values and the concentration of nitrogen oxides at the outlet are shown in different geometrical dimensions of the furnace.
