Incompressible liquid states in asymmetric double-layer electron systems

摘要：
The ground state and excited states of asymmetric double-layer electron systems in a strong magnetic field is studied by diagonalizing the Hamiltonian for systems with finite electron numbers. It is found that the ground state is well approximated by a Jastrow-type wave function at certain fillings, at a certain degree of asymmetry, and for intermediate values of the distance between the two layers.
