Creation of gel-forming composition of selective effect on Volga-Ural oil fields

By detail analysis of gellation processes in oil and water saturated carbonaceous headers, scientists of research institute on oil recovery enhancement, have designed unique gel-forming composition of selective effect. This composition will gelling directly under reservoir conditions at a contact to water saturated carbonate rock and allows enhance oil recovery by increase of flooding sweep efficiency. This paper illustrates laboratory tests of gel behavior, composition properties and outcomes of its application on carbonate reservoirs of Volga-Ural oil fields.
