摘要：

In the article, the role of the natural-gas in the structure of the primary energy usage in Poland and in the EU countries has been presented. The article stresses out the main directions of natural gas management and the factors determining the natural gas management (resources, production, import structure). The main focus rests upon the current level of the natural gas exploitation as a fuel in generation of electricity in selected member states. The main perspectives for the natural gas sector in the light of "The Poland's Energy Politics to 2030" project have been presented. Moreover, the article contains the analysis of the opportunities and obstacles for the development of the gas power sector.
