摘要：
The Guillain-Barre Sydrome, first described in 1916, is an association of an acute progressive ascending paralysis, absence of tendon reflex and an increase in CSF protein without any cellular reaction. Even if the clinical aspects remain essentially the same as originally formulated, its benign evolution is today discutable and more complicated forms are now included under the same umbrella term. In order to ensure its clinical authenticity, diagnostic criteria have been recently proposed which, while respecting the basic semiology, facilitate objective epidemological studies.
