It is proposed to use the radio pulse method to measure the altitude of the flight of unmanned aerial vehicles. The requirements for the energy potential of the pulsed radio altimeter of an unmanned aerial vehicle are determined. The possible loss of energy potential in measuring height is indicated. The attenuation of the pulsed signal received by the altimeter is caused by losses in the reflection of the signal from the earth's surface and due to the interference of signal fading. Interference signal fading depends from the size of the reflection area of the altimeter radio pulses. It is shown that as a result of numerous reflections of a radio signal from the earth's surface, interference fading of the signal occurs. It is proposed to describe interference fading by a four-parameter probability distribution law. The particular cases of the four-parameter probability distribution are given. A mathematical model for a radio channel for a radio pulse altimeter for unmanned aerial vehicles has been developed.
