摘要
Obvious affinities have been pointed out between poetic and novelistic practices in the work of Elise Turcotte, but their importance in constituting the writing itself has not been examined. The thematic and chronological proximity between two poetry books, La voix de Carla and La terre est id, and the novel Le bruit des choses vivantes provides a new angle from which to consider the porous boundaries between the two genres in Turcotte's work, and to posit that an important part of subjectivity is specifically expressed in the passage from poetry to novel. To conceptualize this passage, we need to consider the status conferred by writing on a third element that is indisputably significant in Turcotte's work: the image.
