An analytical solution is derived and examined on the interaction between a screw dislocation and an elastic elliptical inhomogeneity with an interphase layer. An efficient analytical method for complex multiply connected region is developed by combining the sectionally holomorphic function, Rieman boundery problems, Cauchy model integral and laurent series expansion techniques. The complex potentials for inhomogenelty, interphase layer and matrix are formulated. The formulates of interaction energy and the force on the dislocation are derived. The solution contain a number of novel and previously known results which can be shown to be special cases.
