UNESCO report on education for the 21st century declares that rapid changes in contemporary world require a new perspective on education which should focus on children as creators of social awareness in the near future. The importance of creative thinking for an emancipated position in a multicultural society is crucial. In this regard, a discussion unfolds about the need to achieve conceptual changes in education through innovation in pedagogy and didactics. Development of a creative personality is intertwined with the formation of an integral individuality and a holistic personality. The aims of contemporary preschool, elementary and secondary education are closely related to public values culture, lifelong education, personality development, etc. This paper reviews the implications of holistic paradigm and approach for understanding the spiritual dimension of personality and its creative development. The aim of the study is to analyze relevant theoretical insights and contribute to holistic theorizing about ways to promote elementary school learners' creative development via acquisition of musical cultural values. The research involves building on theoretical insights on holism as a concept, reviewing theoretical studies as well as surveying elementary school teachers about acquisition of musical cultural values. The study proposes a summary of approaches relevant to the paradigm of holism: its essence and significance in pedagogy, philosophy and psychology as well as in ascertaining and understanding learners' musical cultural values. The study concludes that acquisition of musical cultural values is a complex and dynamic system which casts an individual's creative inquiry as a peculiar process underpinned by an integral holistic approach to one's spiritual development. Crucially, development of elementary school learners' understanding of musical cultural values requires that elementary school teachers be reoriented towards creative activity and that innovative forms of pedagogical work be implemented. It is essential to respect learners' motivation, support their inquiry and encourage them to transform the world towards sustainability to the best of their ability and according to their best judgment.
