摘要
HIV/AIDS remains a global health problem of unprecedented dimensions. An abundance of studies have been conducted on the epidemiology of HIV infection, therapeutic options, and outcomes. Original research data have been combined and critically appraised through meta-analyses. In this article we review several meta-analyses published on HIV infection/AIDS since the year 2000 with a focus on risk factors for HIV acquisition, epidemiology, mother-to-child transmission, antiretroviral therapy, and efficacy of vaccinations in HIV-positive individuals.
