The solubility of 2,3,5,4'-tetrahydroxystilbene-2-O-beta-D-glucoside (THSG) was measured in nine organic solvents (methanol, ethanol, n-propanol, i-propanol, ethyl acetate, acetone, acetonitrile, N,N-dimethylformamide (DMF), and tetrahydrofuran (THF)) in the temperature range 278.15 to 318.15 K at atmosphere pressure by the gravimetrical method. In the temperature range considered, the solubility of THSG in all of the solvents increases with increasing temperature. At a given temperature, the solubility of THSG in the different solvents is in the order DMF > THF > acetone > methanol > ethanol > n-propanol > i-propanol > ethyl acetate > acetonitrile. The solubility data of THSG are well correlated with the modified Apelblat equation, Buchowski-Ksiaiczak lambda h equation, and Van't Hoff equation. The correlation shows good agreement with the experimental results, and the largest values of the relative average deviation and root-mean-square deviation are 2.37 x 10(-2) and 4.53 x 10(-4), respectively. The apparent dissolution enthalpy and excess enthalpy of the solutions were also investigated. (C) 2018 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
