Based on HR manager's estimating data about college students' soft and hard power from 200 high-tech companies in Shanghai, the article studied the soft and hard power of college students and how do they affect the employment. In this paper, we got the details about students' soft and hard power through the related analysis as follows: The elements of Soft power contains students' personal qualities, personal ability, influence and the hard power contains university rankings, 'all kinds of certificates and the major they selected. Study found that college students' soft and hard power factors have significant positive influence on employment. The inadequacies of this article are mainly in the following areas: On one hand, the sample is small; On the other hand, the data is from single area shanghai; Last but not the least important, to study students' soft and hard power only from the employer's position. So in the future, when we study university students' employment about soft and hard power should begin from the two dimensions with the employer and employees, to test the interaction effects.
