摘要
Increasing interest in the use of magnetic fluids in power systems, especially in transformers, is nowadays registered. Magnetic fluid is used in cooling systems which have better heat transfer and dielectric properties as mineral transformer oil. It can be used in passive cooling system with limited dimensions because of its properties i.e. increased heat transfer coefficient, temperature dependent magnetization which can induce forced circulation without using any pumps. The circulation is caused by incident magnetic field and can be controlled by adjusting the magnetic field which leads to improving cooling capacity. This paper presents thermal distribution, fluid flow and cooling ability of mineral transformer oil and magnetic fluid based on mineral transformer oil. The concentration of nanoparticles Fe3O4 is 0.05 % volume of mineral transformer oil. The source of heat is copper conductor. Thermal distributions in mineral transformer oil and magnetic fluid are investigated and differences for both cases are discussed in the paper.
