ES-DSR: A New Energy-saving Routing Algorithm for Ad Hoc Networks

摘要
This paper proposes a new energy-saving routing algorithm to improve the survival time of the ad hoe networks as well as other performance metrics. The ES-DSR algorithm introduces two parameters which are the count of hops and the energy parameter into the routing cost function, and adjusts these two parameters according to the nodes' energy in the network by using a kind of weighted factor, thus achieving the purpose of adopting different routing strategies in accordance to the different situations of the network. Simulation results indicate that compared with DSR and MMBCR protocols, ES-DSR can effectively improve the survival time, the throughput and other performance of ad hoc networks.
