摘要：
The lack of aetiologic clarity regarding burnout-health associations represents a major impediment towards progress in understanding burnout's role in employee occupational health. What are some of the promising research directions on burnout and health that emerged from this Special Issue? Emphasizing aspects of physical health, this concluding paper attempts to respond to the aforementioned question. Additionally, I delineated several possible ways in which future research could better serve health-care policy-makers and health-care practitioners. Copyright (C) 2009 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.
