摘要
There have so Far been few discussions about how the international broadband services will be created in practice. In this paper we concentrate on two separate international telemedicine trials in which Satakunta Central Hospital took part in the HIM project. In these trials we tested real-time video consultation over the international point-to-point ATM network connection between hospitals in Finland, Portugal and Germany. The quality of the consultations were clinically first-rate in both trials. The technological lesson learned from these trials was valuable for the operators in establishing broadband connections in Europe. The network connection was analysed based on transmission capabilities of the network network connection.
