摘要
This study is concerned with the development of a model, which will provide reliable mould powder compositions for widely-differing casting conditions, mould dimensions and steel grades. The principal focus in this work has been through the introduction of (i) the oscillation characteristics and (ii) the solidification (or break) temperature on the powder consumption, which is a measure of the liquid, (slag) lubrication supplied to the steel shell. The analysis of the plant data shows that the Tsutsumi (or NKK) relationship (incorporating both oscillation characteristics and break temperature) provides a reliable measure of the powder consumption. If the oscillation characteristics are not known it was found that the modified Jenkins relation gave reliable calculated values for the powder consumption. On the basis of these and other data a model for calculating the mould powder composition is formulated.
