Direct observation of time-resolved excited state absorption on Tm3+-doped various glasses using a laser-flash pump-probe spectroscopy

摘要
The time-resolved excited state absorption spectra from the H-3(4) intermediate level were observed in Tm3+-doped various fluoride glasses including a new stable fluoroindate glass. Those spectra were acquired by a pump-probe spectroscopy method using a nanosecond pulsed laser and a sub-microsecond xenon flash lamp. The predominant mechanism of ultraviolet and blue upconversion fluorescence of Tm3+ was reported for each glass system. A more efficient ultraviolet and blue upconversion laser is expected when the intermediate level of Tm3+ is pumped directly.
