Destruction of soil organic matter and nitrogen assimilation in southern taiga ecosystems

摘要
The destruction of soil organic matter, the related mineralization of nitrogen, and its assimilation by the phytocenosis of an oxalis-bilberry birch forest were studied. When the destruction flux of carbon in the birch forest was 241 g/m(2) per season and the litter C : N ratio was about 30, the nitrogen mineralization was 8 g/m(2), the value of which was similar to its assimilation by the phytocenosis (7.5 g/m(2) per vegetation period).
