摘要
The adoption of electric vehicles (EVs) is rising steadily worldwide as their performance is improving, governments are offering incentives and subsidies, petrol prices are increasing, and people are becoming more concerned about the environment. When charging, an EV is a load that requires varied power over time, and a distribution network mostly supplies this power. It is anticipated that this new load, which draws a considerable amount of power from the grid in a short period of time, will have adverse impacts on the distribution network if it is not regulated appropriately, and may necessitate costly infrastructure modifications for utility companies. Consequently, thorough research should be conducted to comprehend and evaluate the load characteristics of EV charging stations and the potential impacts they may have on power systems, particularly distribution networks. This article's key focus is a review of the adverse effects of EV charging on distribution networks attributable to unregulated charging.
