Effect of 'duplex' treatment on changes of physical and mechanical properties of steel (0.3 wt% C)

摘要
After electrochemical deposition, subsequent thermal annealing and high-current pulsed electron beam (HCEB) treatment with melting and partial evaporation, the binary systems Cr-Fe, Ni-Fe and Al-Fe have been analyzed. Depending on the treatment regime, the formation of FeAl, Fe2Al5, FeAl3, Cr2O3, CrO and FeNi phases has been found. The HCEB irradiation resulted in a decrease or a total disappearance of oxides from the surfaces, an increase in microhardness and a decrease in the friction coefficient against steel.
