摘要：
The evaluation and management of fever in infants younger than 2 months of age differs from that of any other age group. Their immunologic and developmental immaturity combined with their exposures to unique pathogens put them at substantial risk of contracting serious bacterial illnesses and also make it difficult for the physicians who examine them to quickly identify the causes of those illnesses. It is incumbent upon those physicians to perform comprehensive evaluations of fever in these infants before considering definitive treatment options.
