A review with 20 refs. covering mineral and chem. compn. of phosphogypsum of various origin, radioactivity differences between phosphogypsum, construction-grade gypsum and dihydrous calcium sulfate, applicability potential and the use of phosphogypsum waste to prep. hemihydrous gypsum and as a constituent of building raw materials.
