摘要
Magnetorheological elastomers (MREs) belong to the class of smart materials. They consist of a cross-linked elastomer and magnetic particles. Due to their advantage to control the viscoelastic properties by applying an external magnetic field, MREs are getting increasing interest in sensor and actuator applications. This work focuses on the question how the process-induced morphology affects the properties of MRE composites which mainly consists of polydimethylsiloxane and varying carbonyl iron content. Finally, new modelling approaches of the mechanical properties of MREs are provided.
