摘要：

The article presents an overview of contributions in the area of psychology of women and men in Slovak and Czech Republics from the 1970s to date. The different meaning of the terms "sex" and "gender" is pointed out. Two problem areas, i.e, differences between men and women in intelligence and in social behavior, are discussed. Although research in this area is sporadic in Slovak and Czech Republics, it does reflect basic trends in world psychology.
