摘要：

Jun Xu was awarded his PhD in Physics under Prof Norman Tolk at Vanderbilt University and thereafter was an insightful, resourceful, and very successful researcher at Oak Ridge National Laboratory till his death in 2013. Several instances of his habitual cheerful enthusiasm as a colleague and friend and his great skill as a scientist are collected here from various sources and from notes provided by some of his collaborators.
