摘要
For the preparation supported ruthenium catalysts ruthenium(III) chloride (RuCl3) is most frequently used. In our earlier investigations, ruthenium red (Ru-red) was applied as the metal precursor of ruthenium catalysts supported on the modified by disodium salt of ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid (EDTA) alumina support. The infrared spectra of Ru-red and EDTA adsorbed on alumina indicated that interaction may occur between adsorbates and the support surface. Application of Fourier transform infrared photoacoustic spectroscopy (FT-IR/PAS) made possible to observe spectral changes, which undergo during interaction between Ru-red <----> alumina and Ru-red <----> EDTA <----> alumina. Depending on the impregnation method applied. Ru-red is interacting with the gamma-Al2O3 support primarily due to physical or chemical adsorption. The possible influence of the preadsorbed EDTA on the Ru-red <----> alumina interaction is discussed. (C) 2003 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
