摘要
The modeling of droplet-film interaction has a rather high industrial significance. The droplet size distribution and the liquid film are strongly dependent on entrainment and deposition phenomena. This work discusses a macroscopic modeling of film-droplet interaction phenomena based on a statistical approach resembling the population balance equation. The modeling framework is solved by using a least squares spectral method which allows a detailed description of the evolution of the droplet size distribution. Numerical experiments are presented in order to show the principles of the modeling framework. (C) 2008 Elsevier Inc. All rights reserved.
