摘要
SHIELD is a transport code for simulation of hadron cascades in complex extended targets of arbitrary geometric configuration and chemical composition in the energy range up to 1 TeV. Transport of nucleons, pions, kaons, antinucleons, and muons is considered. Recently the transfer of ions (arbitrary A,Z-nuclei) was included. Hadron-nucleus and nucleus-nucleus interactions inside the target are simulated in exclusive approach on a basis of known Russian models of nuclear reactions. Simulation of neutron transfer (E-n < 14.5 MeV) is based on the 28-group neutron data system BNAB. Special interface allows to connect the EGS4 code for simulation of e gamma-showers. Illustrations of application of the SHIELD code to various problems are presented. (C) 1999 Elsevier Science Ltd. All rights reserved.
