摘要
Chorea gravidarum is a rare disorder characterized by choreiform and athetoid movements seen during pregnancy. History of Sydenham chorea can be found in more than one third of the patients. Changes in basal ganglia metabolism secondary to pregnancy-related increase in progesterone and estrogen levels were suggested as the cause of the chorea. Herein we report a 20-year-old patient presenting with chorea in the last trimester without any underlying cause. (Archives of Neuropsychiatry 2009; 46: 118-20)
