摘要
The Burst and Transient Experiment (BATSE) on the CGRO operated successfully for more than nine years from April 1991 to May 2000, obtaining data on a total of 2704 triggered GRBs, as well as numerous other transient events, including solar flares, SGR bursts and TGFs. Although the most well-known BATSE discovery was the combined isotropy and inhomogeneity of the GRB distribution, the BATSE GRB data base has provided, and continues to provide, other crucial insights into the nature of GRB prompt emission. I summarize the BATSE GRB legacy and review some recent GRB science results that use BATSE data.
