A novel triptycene-based covalent polymer (TCP) with a high surface area was constructed through the Suzuki coupling reaction. A very high photocatalytic H-2 production rate of 50 670 mu mol h(-1) g(-1) and superior photostability were achieved due to the intimate synergistic interactions between the TCP and Cd0.5Zn0.5S.
