摘要
A water-soluble rhodamine-based fluorescent probe (RD2) was designed and synthesized. Compared with the precursor RD1, RD2 shows excellent selectivity for Fe3+ over Cr3+ during the detection. The enhanced selectivity was achieved by incorporating another coordination moiety to the chelating moiety of the precursor RD1. Furthermore, bioimaging studies indicated that RD2 was cell permeable and suitable for the real-time imaging of Fe3+ in the living cells by confocal microscopy. (C) 2014 Elsevier B.V.
