摘要
The objective of this research is to investigate the mechanical performance of dowel-type timber joints reinforced by fiberglass fabrics as reinforcements. Some critical characteristics such as the anisotropy of wood and splitting failure in structures and in joints demand more skill and limit the engineering design owing to the complexity of the design. According to the results of experiments, the fiberglass reinforcements leads to a higher performance and provides a good security factor to the timber joints. Experimental work, numerical analysis and the optical observation to evaluate the reinforcing technique are reported.
