摘要：
Turning a sink into a source may be the solution to (not just) the ozone deficit problem. Theoretical studies of the potential-energy surfaces and rate constants of catalytic O-x and HOx cycles however revealed this surprising result far from local thermodynamic equilibrium. The Figure illustrates the extent of ozone depletion in the northern hemisphere in 1993.
