摘要
UPDATED-15 January 2019. The purpose of this work was to run an experiment in order to measure the usability of a student's web platform through eye-tracking and survey technique and to observe if there is a correlation between both approaches. Participants were asked to perform 4 tasks in a web platform, measuring typical eye-tracking metrics as the number of fixations through regions of interest. Another measurement includes was the overall time taken by users to accomplish the tasks. Results suggest that there is no correlation between usability scores in the survey and eye-tracking data. Subsequently, in this study the survey technique followed was considered a weak way to do so, due its qualitative aspect. However, a further exploration is needed to draw more solid conclusions.
