Sulfur segregation and intergranular fracture in α-iron

摘要
The intergranular fracture in alpha-iron is due to the segregated sulfur at grain boundaries which decreases the cohesive strength. Below 700 degreesC, the decreasing tendency in sulfur level with decreasing temperature is probably due to the repulsive segregation between sulfur and nitrogen or carbon.
