Original results concerning Ag, Co, Cr and Ni determination in marine biotope (sediment and water) and biocenosis (algae, crustaceans and fish) collected in 2003, 2004, 2005 and 2006 from the Romanian Black seacoast ecosystem are presented. The solid samples have been carefully prepared (washed, dried) and subjected to dissolution with nitric acid and hydrogen peroxide in a Digesdahl device. Metal concentrations have been measured by atomic emission spectrometry with an Agilent 7500a ICP-MS apparatus. In studied solid samples (sediment and biota) the levels of Ag varied from ND (not detectable) to 0.20 mu g/g, Co from 0.03 to 0.65 mu g/g, Cr from 0.49 to 22.44 mu g/g, and Ni from 0.32 to 28.13 mu g/g. In water, mean metal concentrations were: Ag 1.07 mu g/L, Co 0.75 mu g/L, Cr 10.7 mu g/L and Ni 8.68 mu g/L.
