摘要
In this paper, a viscous water extinguishant is put forward. The extinguishant is a pseudo-plastic fluid with yield stress. It has strong adhesion to solid surface and low resistance when flowing through a pipe, and it is easy to spray out. Based on the theoretical study, KD-1 additive is developed. By adding the additive to water in amounts of 0.4 percentage by weight, the viscous water extinguishant is prepared. The fire-fighting experiments show that the extinguishant has excellent fire-fighting effect upon the wood fire. The extinction time of the viscous water is less as one forth that of water.
