摘要
X-type zeolite membranes were prepared by a template-free method on porous tubular supports. The best membrane was prepared as one zeolite layer on a gamma-Al2O3 Support and it had a tri-isopropyl benzene pervaporation flux of 2.3 g/m(2) h at 300 K. This membrane separated 1,3-propanediol from glycerol in aqueous mixtures by pervaporation; at 308 K, the total flux was 2.7 kg/m(2) h, and the 1,3-propanediol/glycerol selectivity was 41. All the component fluxes and the 1,3-propanediol/glycerol selectivity increased with temperature, but the water flux increased faster than fluxes of the other species. The high 1,3-propanediol/glycerol selectivity was due to preferential adsorption of 1,3-propanediol. (C) 2002 Published by Elsevier Science Inc.
