Thick curved beams on elastic foundation: Higher order theory

摘要
The behavior of woven fabric composites under compressive loading has been studied. Experimental studies have been carried out on typical plain weave and twill weave fabric composites using Lockheed test fixture. Modified specimen geometry has been used to avoid end crushing. An analytical method is presented for the compressive behavior of thick curved beams on elastic foundation using higher order shear deformation theory. Compressive behavior of plain weave fabric composites has been predicted using curved beam on elastic foundation and classical curved beam theory approach. A good correlation is observed between the predicted and experimental results.
