摘要
The numerical simulations were performed to investigate the lubrication performance on the chevron textured surface under hydrodynamic lubrication. The geometric parameters of the texture were systematically studied. Additionally, we investigated the pressure distribution and the flow velocity vectors to explore the mechanism of the geometric parameters influencing the lubrication performance. We found that, with the same geometric parameters, the arrangement of the chevron textures influences the pressure distribution and thus the load carrying capacity and the friction coefficient. More importantly, we designed the V-shape arrangement of chevron textures and found that the V-shape arrangement greatly improve the lubrication performance. Our results provide an effective way to further improve the lubrication performance of the chevron textured surface.
